Pricing Guidelines

Or what it is going to cost.

I will use this page to give some basic guidelines to my pricing structure.

Let us start with basic things. Axe blade covers start at $20 for a snap over the blade cover.

A strap on cover will also start at $20 with a snap. You may ask for it to have a buckle instead. That makes your total $30. Any custom embossing will add to the cost. Currently I base that at $25 dollars, then $30 an hour for any time over that first hour. This is my rate on any piece that I am customizing for you.

The above applies to knife sheaths also. I prefer to have the knife or axe or hatchet in hand to guarantee fit. With knives I will not make a sheath without the knife. Knife sheath prices start at $35.

Multitool cases, folding knife, and flashlight sheaths can be done multiple ways. The first is a single uncovered sheath at $35. Adding the cover with a snap makes your total $50. Adding a basket weave or similar pattern for another $25 makes a total of $75. For another $25 I will hand stitch small cases, sheaths, and small holsters.

Key fobs with mostly Alaskan animals on them are available for $12.50 retail. If you want to purchase for your shop, contact me and we can work out a price.

I also make handle covers for cast Iron pans. With simple adornment and color, retail is $20. This can include an Alaskan animal imprint. If decorated further (tooled), retail is $30 and up. Please contact me for bulk orders at wholesale. These are available at retail from

Belts are available using harness or English bridle leather or fully lined vegetable tanned leather. Plain belts start at $50, basket weave patterns will be charged by the hour. These are hand done, not done using a roller. Gunbelts start at $100.

So that brings us to holsters.

First let me say if you want a simple belt slide, that does not cover much more than the trigger guard, I will make you one for $35 dollars. They are functional but not attractive and there is no real protection for your handgun.

NOW that that is out of the way, an unlined holster starts at $75. But I will make a ruff side out holster for the same price, which effectively turns it into a lined holster. There is a second exception to this price. An inside the pants holster with an uncovered clip to attach with is $50.

This is where you can figure your costs up for a holster.

Western style holsters start at $150. All other holsters start at $75. The only other exception is inside the pants, which start at $50.

  • Lining adds $25 on small holsters
  • $50 on large
  • Tooling or basket weave adds $25 on small holsters and for first hour on all others
  • $30 an hour after on large holsters
  • Hand stitching using the saddlers stitch adds $25 for small holsters and first hour on large holsters
  • $30 an hour after on large holsters.
  • All my leather goods will have finished edges. If you prefer raw leather, please discuss it with me.
  • I use brass and copper rivets and burrs only where necessary. Example: holding a clip on a inside the pants holster.
  • I will be attaching my logo or my makers mark. Usually it will be invisible when the firearm is holstered. If you desire something without it, that is a $200 fee. I make unique and heirloom quality pieces. I want my name on them.

Speed rigs – call and we will discuss it. Because of the time involved, figure at least one week to get everything right. The costs are high.

Western style holsters – call and discuss. I have several patterns I use, including one I modified to cover the trigger guard. It is made with a tight fit, not loose. All western holsters will be lined and open on the muzzle end. Closed add $10. With a plug add $30. Tooling on any holster adds cost. Western style holsters tend to be large so the cost can be anywhere from $35 to $100.

Scabbards start at $150 for an unlined shotgun scabbard. Prices go up from there. With rifle scabbards it is best to have the rifle with mounted scope on hand. I only need it for an hour while I draw the pattern. Please consider this. I do not want you to have a generic scabbard. I want it to be a part of your kit that fits perfectly. Scabbards will be made with latigo, harness, or English harness leather. Hand stitched scabbards start at $250.

If you want a historic or reproduction holster, I can steer you in the right direction.

If you are looking for a chest or shoulder holster, I have other makers I would recommend who are doing fantastic work.
